Everything that costs nothing

Free 911 dispatcher practice tests and tools

Everything on this page works without an account, without a card, and without handing over an email to see your result. We ask for an email in exactly one place — beside a result you have already been given, for a discount code you can ignore.

If you only do one thing: get a real measurement rather than an impression. Most people are surprised by the gap between how fast they type prose and how accurately they type addresses and plate numbers.

Free practice modules

Full modules, not samples. They generate fresh records every run, so you cannot memorize your way through them and you will not run out of items.

The keyboard-marked modules measure physical typing speed and accuracy. A phone touchscreen will give you a number that does not reflect how you will perform on a test-center keyboard, so use a laptop or desktop for those.

A sensible order to do this in

Diagnosis before practice. Almost everyone who skips the measuring step spends their best hours on the skill they were already good at.

  1. Run the readiness check first. It costs three minutes and it is the only step that can tell you not to bother with the other four.
  2. Take the typing test and write down all three numbers — gross, net and accuracy. Not just the one you liked.
  3. Run the free data entry drill. Compare it to your typing result. The gap between prose speed and alphanumeric accuracy is the single most informative number you will collect.
  4. Put those numbers into the goal calculator against the minimum printed on the job posting you are actually applying to.
  5. Then build a routine. Our guide to a realistic weekly practice schedule covers the open-ended case, and the two-week plan covers the case where you already have a date.

What is not free, and why we are telling you here

The rest of the modules are paid. We would rather you saw the whole list on the free page than discovered it after clicking. $49 once, every module, unlimited attempts, no subscription.

The same is true of the full timed mock exam — several modules back to back in one sitting, with the emergency interruptions running, and one report at the end. Practicing a module in isolation tells you your ceiling; a full sitting tells you whether your accuracy survives an hour of it, which is the number that matters.
